Area information

This once quiet seaside resort has recently attracted a younger crowd and the night life centred along the main road of the town is quite lively, especially during July and August. The village itself has charming cobbled streets, and the archaeological site of Malia is worth a visit.

The beach front is extensive and runs for about 5 km, between Stalida and Malia. You’ll find plenty of water sports here, including Jet Ski and paragliding. You’ll never be far from a snack bar or café and there are plenty of restaurants catering every type of cuisine.

For adventures away from the beach, there are some lovely inland villages set amongst beautiful landscapes, with tree-covered hills and small, mountain springs.

Travel information

From the airport or the harbour of Heraklion, follow the signs in the direction of Agios Nikolaos. After 30 km you will come across Malia. The hotel is well-signposted throughout the town.
